The diet

The cleansing diet consists of filling your body with vitamins and minerals.

During this week we want to avoid:

  1. Meat and its derivatives: for vegetarians it is already done
  2. Dairy products including milk
  3. Refined food such as white flour, white bread, white rice,..
  4. Any kind of sugar: sugar, chocolate, candies, ice creams, goodies, even artificial sweeteners.
  5. Hydrogenated fats such as margarine
  6. Animal fats
  7. Fried foods
  8. All diet drinks, carbonated drinks, commercial fruits juices, alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea,..
  9. In addition to the diet you must quit smoking during this week or at least limit considerably your cigarette consumption.

I hope you are not wondering what is left to eat.
There are plenty of other foods.
First, if you are not already doing so, you will consume only organic and whole foods.
You cannot cleanse your body if you fill it with chemicals and pesticides.
The more natural the diet, the healthier.

The idea is to:
1- decrease your fat intake
2- increase your fiber consumption

When increasing fiber in your diet you automatically increase your vitamins and minerals intake at the same time.
You will consume mainly whole grains, vegetables, fruits, legumes and nuts.
You will prefer raw or very lightly steamed fruits and vegetables in order to benefit from their vitamins and minerals.

Water is essential to cleanse and also to maintain good health. You must drink plenty of water every day and the water you drink must be pure.
Water is excellent at flushing out toxins and restoring health.
If you are not used to eat whole grains, you should drink even more water to avoid constipation.
