Nuts consumption and health

Nuts are usually eaten as a snack or added to a dessert recipe but they are rarely used in the main dish. In the vegetarian diet or in certain parts of the world, nuts are a staple food and are added to many dishes. As a matter of fact, a new vegetarian food guide pyramid has been released recommending vegetarians to consume one to two serving sizes of nuts per day (one serving size of nuts is equal to 30 g).
